Pershing presents the slender shape and the strong character of the new Pershing 74' at the Genoa Show
Careful and meticulous work led to the creation of a project that revisits the famous Pershing 72' to create a new boat that enhances the life on board and the concept of a complete living space
September 2011 - Pershing, brand of the Ferretti Group, among the leading international manufacturers of high performance open motor yacht, from 15 to 35 metres, will be present with an important novelty at the great Genoa Boat Show.
After its successful international premiere at the Cannes Show, from the 1st to the 9th October, the newest Pershing 74', the contemporary and modern restyling of the famous P72', one of the symbol models of the brand that has brought authentic design development, anticipating tastes and trends in the nautical world, will be the protagonist at the most exclusive show of the nautical world.
The new Pershing 74', penciled by the yacht designer Fulvio De Simoni in close collaboration with AYT (Advanced Yacht Technology) of the Ferretti Group and the team of architects and designers of Centro Stile Ferrettigroup, features an external profile that is more slender and sleeker than that of its predecessor, thanks to the shape of the wider lateral windows which can be opened, and the longer superstructure, with a sun deck with an electro-away bridge.
22.66 metres long and 5.50 metres wide, the new model which has two MTU Common Rail engines of 1950hp with Searex propulsion and high-performance surface propellers, reaches a maximum speed of 45 knots while maintaining a very comfortable pace.
Technology is the key feature, starting with the pocket door between the cockpit and the saloon, which combines the external with the internal parts forming one single space that can be fully exploited and has direct contact with the sea. It is worth noting the full width sliding hard top, and the central staircase in carbon steel that lowers automatically into the cockpit with electro-hydraulic control, created by the collaboration of AYT and Besenzoni. It is also equipped with a telescopic gangway, a hydraulic bathing staircase and a tender with a launching platform that forms a slip way.
In its master suite and two guest cabins, Pershing 74' can host up to 6 people - 7 with a pull out bed in the left guest cabin - and two crew members, given the space distribution below deck that aims at exalting the concept of on board comfort and liveability.
Collaboration with the prestigious brand, Poltrona Frau, has given life to the furnishings and furniture, the leather seats and ceilings, designed to combine the style of Pershing with value, quality craftsmanship and the typical functionality of the Poltrona Frau creations.
“A strong open personality, big volumes and luminosity make Pershing 74' an attractive model, that best expresses all the features that identify the models of the fleet", says Fulvio De Simoni, Yacht Designer of Pershing since 1985. “In addition, an intelligent distribution of space and further space exploitation have made it possible for the ship owner and his guests to make full and unparalleled use of functional surfaces."
However, the Pershing style does not stop there: next to the latest of the fleet, at the Genoa event, there will also be two other models which are amongst the most representative of the brand. One of them is the smallest yacht of the range, Pershing 50.1, a redesigning of Pershing 50 and an expression of the Next Generation which has a definite sportive touch but still meets the expectations of those who are already familiar with the style and the elegance of the brand. The other one is a model boat, Pershing 64', an open yacht with contemporary lines and sportive performance, besides being a great example of technology and design branded Pershing.
Nada Serafini, Brand Manager of Pershing highlights the participation of Pershing at Genoa by saying: “The restyling of a model that has made history, such as the Pershing 72', creating the new Pershing 74', is brought about by our willingness to ensure that our offer is modern and up-to-date, so as to meet the tastes and the needs of the clients as they develop throughout the years. We are talking here of innovation without sacrificing the brand's DNA".
